About Anthea Zammit

Anthea started Ballet at the age of 3 under the tutelage of Ms Olivia Dow at the Olivia Dow School of Russian Ballet and has passed all her ballet exams up to Advanced Level with Honours.

Anthea was awarded the ' John Baldacchino Memorial Scholarship in 2007 for obtaining the highest mark in her Ballet Elementary Exam, she again received this award in 2009 and 2011 for both her Intermediate and Advanced examinations. In October 2012 Anthea started studying to become a ballet teacher and is presently qualified with examinations in Primary Teaching, Junior Teaching and Intermediate Teaching all with Honours. She is currently working towards her last teaching exam in October 2015 in order to become fully graduated in Russian Ballet Teaching with a Masters in this field.

Anthea joined Dance Project in 2007 where under the tutelage of Ms Kristina Ann Schranz and Mr Dorian Mallia, she continued to excel in Ballet, Contemporary, ISTD Jazz, Lyrical Jazz and Commercial Jazz. Anthea has obtained her ISTD Modern JAzz examinations up to Intermediate level and is currently working towards obtaining her Advanced 1 examination in December 2015.

In 2008 Anthea auditioned for 'The Crown of Russian Ballet'; a ballet company from Moscow, and was selected to dance on both performance nights of their production;'The Nutcracker'. In July 2012, Megan Lawson; American dancer and choreographer and part of legend Fanny Pack dance crew, awarded Anthea with a scholarship in contemporary dance. In March 2015, Anthea competed in the Malta International Dance Competition and Event with a solo entry in the modern category where she placed second and was the only Maltese in this category. She also entered this competition in the groups category of Hip Hop, where together with the rest of the Dance Project Senior Company they placed first, and where awarded a scholarship to study in Naples, Italy. In April 2015, Anthea won the first edition of Malta Eurovision Young Dancers and will represent Malta in Czech Republic on the 19th June 2015.

Anthea has worked with many local artists and has performed in various shows. Amongs wthich are various editions of the Malta Music Awards, Bay Music Awards, Malta Fashion Awards, Indipendenza, The Malta Eurovision Song Contest and in 2013 she was one of four dancers selected to perform during the Isle of MTV.
