Venue: New Theatre, Pilsen
From the Oslo Dansens Hus, to the Warsaw's National Theatre, Amsterdam's Stadsschouwburg Theatre, and London's Linbury Studio Theatre- Eurovision Young Dancers has had some exceptionally high-class venues to stage its competition- and 2015 will be no different!
The New Theatre was ceremonially opened for the public on 1 September 2014 with a new production of The Bartered Bride, and was built in line with Pilsen’s European Capital of Culture 2015 status. The construction began in June 2012 designed by Helika, according to the original design by Contemporânea Lda of Portugal.
The theatre and operational premises consist of two almost parallel and slightly inclined buildings with a unique façade of white face concrete that is perforated with elliptic holes. The greater building houses a hall with an auditorium for over 450 people, while the Minor Stage seats an audience of around 150.
The new building is equipped with the state-of-the-art theatre technology and is described as a true “twenty-first century theatre”.
